More Than Bowling: Strikes for Scholarships Brings the PR Community Together for a Great Cause

Another year, another successful Strikes for Scholarships! PRSA Detroit's annual fundraiser once again brought together members, students, sponsors and communications professionals for an evening of networking, friendly competition and giving back to the communications community.

This year's event saw great participation, with 42 bowlers and five supporters joining. Thanks to the generosity of all of those who attended,  supported the event and donated. PRSA Detroit raised $1,152 in net proceeds to benefit the chapter's scholarship program.

All proceeds from Strikes for Scholarships help directly benefit PRSA Detroit's scholarship program for Michigan undergraduate students pursuing careers in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field. 

While the bowling sparked plenty of friendly competition, the evening was about much more than scoring strikes. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with colleagues, build new professional relationships and support investment in the next generation of industry professionals.

Events like these not only bring professionals together but also provide opportunities for students as they prepare to enter the field.
