What to Expect at the 2025 Annual Meeting & Celebration!

Now is the time to make a list of the top professionals you want to network with, break out an outfit you’ve been wanting to wear and grab your tickets for the 2025 Annual Meeting & Celebration - the largest gathering of public relations and communications professionals of its kind in the region - to recognize all of our outstanding members and the amazing accomplishments we have made this year as a chapter!
This year’s celebration will be held on November 20 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., immersed among future PR professionals at the stunning Student Center Ballroom at Wayne State University.
We are excited to honor Tina Kozak, CEO of Franco, as the 2025 PRSA Detroit Hall of Fame Award inductee for her significant contributions to the profession. Kozak is the first woman CEO in Franco’s lengthy history. With over 18 years at Franco, she has helped define longstanding leadership and dedication at the agency.
Georgie Kirsten, APR, head of corporate communications at Freudenberg Chemical Specialities, will be recognized as the winner of the Nancy Skidmore Service Award for her contributions to the Chapter.
Sharon Garcia, APR, vice president of marketing and communications at Downtown Detroit Partnership will be celebrated as the winner of the Robert Hefty Distinguished Service Award for her longtime involvement with the Chapter and continued support.

We will also formally pin Karen Couf Cohen, APR, principal of Karen Couf Cohen Public Relations, and Jessica Stilger, APR, director of communications at the Berkley School District, for earning their accreditation in public relations through the Universal Accreditation Board this year. Additionally, Allison Gavagan, Chapter intern, will be celebrated for her work throughout the year.
The 2026 Board of Directors and Executive Board will also formally be installed.
