The Senior Council: Celebrating milestones and recognizing long time members

During the 2021 PRSA Detroit Annual Meeting, we recognized around 60 members with over 20 years of PRSA membership and we made a commitment to connect with these members in 2022.
The Senior Council Committee is looking to celebrate and recognize our longtime members through blog posts and video vignettes. If you have 20 years of membership or more, you can expect an email from us soon with an ask to interview you for an upcoming blog post. We’d love to share your story with our members. If you already know that this speaks to you and you want to share your story with members, please email Sharon Tatom Garcia, PRSA Detroit Senior Council Committee. We would love to highlight your story!
We are also looking to build a roster of Senior Council members who would like to share their expertise in this year’s upcoming programs. Anyone with 20 years of experience is considered a member of the Senior Council. Whether you would like to serve as a moderator, expert, or panelist, we would welcome your contributions to our programming. Please email Sharon Tatom Garcia for more information about serving on our program.

Do you have past PRSA Detroit event photos in an album or stuck on an old external hard drive? Please dust them off and send them to Sharon Tatom Garcia. If you have hard copies of photos, you can scan and email them, or contact Sharon to coordinate mailing/drop off the originals.

We are planning an in-person event this summer tailored to the Senior Council. The objectives of the mixer are to provide an opportunity to recognize Senior Council members, allow them to connect with each other, as well as offer a resume review to new professionals and PRSSA members by the Senior Council and create an opportunity for potential mentor/mentee pairings. Sharon Tatom Garcia is immediate past president of PRSA Detroit and currently serves on the Senior Council Committee. She serves as Senior Director of Communications for The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division.
