PRSA offers a number of membership options for practitioners at every phase of their careers – from new grads to newly retired. If you’re considering joining PRSA but are concerned about the expense or your eligibility, check out the options below to discover how to make your membership happen.
The standard dues for an annual national PRSA membership is $260 with a $65 initiation fee for new members. Detroit Chapter dues are an additional $80. To obtain a Chapter membership, you must first purchase a national membership. For those interested in a more incremental dues payment, a quarterly payment plan is available. Join today.
Recent grad? Rejoining? Retired? There’s a special membership option for you.
- Associate Member 1
- Less than one year of experience: $115 annual dues
- Associate Member 2
- One to two years of experience: $155 annual dues
- Associate Member 3
- Two to three years of experience: $200 annual dues
- Associate Member, PRSSA Graduate
- Former PRSSA member who graduated within the past two years: $60 annual dues
- Associate Member, Graduate Student
- Full-time graduate student pursuing an advanced degree: $60 annual dues

Group Membership
If you have five or more members, sign up for a Group Membership.
Reinstating Member
If you are a former PRSA member, join as a Reinstating Member ($260 annual dues plus a one-time $35 reinstatement fee). Contact PRSA National for more information.
Retirement Status
If you have been a member in good standing for at least five years, you may qualify for Retirement Status ($50 annual dues). Retired Membership is open to any General Member in good standing who:

Has been a member of the Society for at least five years;

and has retired from the full-time practice of public relations or communications and is employed less than 50% of the time.

Members Emeriti
PRSA honors and respects the loyalty of our long-term members, who have served the profession with distinction. Emeritus Membership is open to any individual who has been a General Member for 50 or more years. Emeritus Membership is an honorary privilege that may be revoked at any time at the sole discretion of the Board. Contact PRSA National for more information.
Professional Interest Sections

Chapters
